What a year its turning out to be, 2020 got off to a busy start with prep team meetings and venue viewings, it was full steam ahead for what was to be the Rural Youth Europe Autumn Seminar hosted by Macra na Feirme in November. We had a great team in place, funding secured, ideas were flowing and there was just no stopping us! We were looking forward to a jam packed week full of activities, sharing ideas and of course showing of our beautiful country! That was until a ‘little’ thing called Corona virus decided to pay us all a visit. The foundations were set for our prep team and the timetable was being finalised, but the inevitable decision had to be made – we would need to postpone the Autumn Seminar until 2021.
Whilst it was a hard decision for the prep team to come to we knew it was the right one to make for the health and welfare of the participants and prep team. We look forward to 2021 when planning will be stepped up a gear for a bigger and more exiting activity and we can’t wait to welcome the participants to Ireland in November 2021. You can look forward to a busy and exciting week full of inspiring activities, working towards creating simple practical tools for your originations allowing them to become more welcoming and inclusive while creating safer spaces for LGBT+ rural young people.
In the meantime be sure to keep an eye out on Macra na Feirme and the Rural Youth Europe Social media pages where some exciting news will be coming your way! Make sure to keep your evening free on Monday 2nd November 😉
But for now, stay safe,
