this is Emma writing. Here in Finland it already gets dark outside at 4 p.m now, which means it’s time to think about a coping strategy – if you like me are more of a sun person.
Here I have listed my top 10 tips on how to survive the coldest and darkest times of the year:
Have a lot of candles and lanterns, to use both indoors and outdoorsDecorate a tree/balcony/whatever with mini light stringsFind your favourite tee for this winter, drink it when needed (right now my favourite is a mix of ginger and orange)Go outside before it gets dark – go for a walk, run or just feed the ducksHave some vitamin C and D (most of us suffer from deficiency from vitamin D!)Start planning your goals for next yearDo a mindfulness exercise (e.g. this: https://www.livingwell.org.au/mindfulness-exercises-3/6-body-scan/)Look back at the good stuff you have done this yearWatch photos from past RYEurope events you have been toDo something nice for someone else (write a letter, invite someone for a cup of tea, make a small gift for someone)BONUS: collect good and fowerfull quotes – like the one on my mug!
