European Rally 2024 – Estonia

“Care to Stay, Dare to Change”

28th July to 4th August 2024 (including traveling dates) in Voore, Estonia.

Rural Youth Europe and Estonian 4H warmly invite you to Estonia! The European Rally in 2024 will focus on developing entrepreneurial competencies, learning how to use them in real life and implement their competences to ensure sustainability in their local communities.

 Objectives of the project

To raise the awareness of the importance of entrepreneurial skills of European rural youth by creating an intercultural dialogue, sharing experiences and knowledge and learn more about the different aspects of rural entrepreneurship and the need and opportunities for developing entrepreneurial skills organisation/ community/national/European level within the members of different rural youth organisations. 

By encouraging our participants to take action, developing their competences and through that creating a behavioural change, we apply for increasing awareness and further actions within participants organisations and local communities.

 The working methods will include interactive workshops and a series of study visits to explore different aspects of the theme. Sessions are based on non-formal education and youth participation by providing opportunities for participants to develop their skills and knowledge, as well as to share their experiences.

Team Leaders
The Team leader must be aged over 18 years old (advised under 35) and is accountable for all communication between the prep team and their national team before, during and after the Rally.

Tasks of the Team Leader will include:

  • Sharing email communication to their team members;
  • Taking care of team members and making sure everyone follows the behavioural guidelines;
  • Daily team leader meetings in order to create a safe space for all the participants;
  • Collect all original tickets, proof of payments and boarding passes of the team and submits them to the organisers in a timely manner.

Participants Profile

Participants must:

  • Be aged over 18 and under 30 years; 
  • Be active within their own youth organisation/ community;
  • Be interested in topics like entrepreneurship, entrepreneurial mindset, taking action in their organisation and local communities;
  • Be able to communicate in English;
  • Collect all original tickets, proof of payments and boarding passes to forward them to the team leader;
  • Have travel insurance; For EU citizens we advise to have the European health insurance card (https://ec.europa.eu/social/main.jsp?catId=559) 

Venue & Travel

Each organisation is responsible for booking tickets for their National Rally Team. Before purchasing the tickets, you need to contact the local Prep Team (projektid@eesti4h.ee) to check your travel plans and to be approved. All travel invoices and schedules must be sent to the office e-mail by 21st June 2024.

Please consider environment friendly options when arranging your travel.

The pick up point is Jõgeva bus or train station. They are next to each other, which means you can arrive either by bus or train.
 For teams which are travelling to Estonia by plane, we advise flights to: 

  • Tallinn Lennart Meri Airport (TLL) and take a train from Tallinn to Jõgeva.
  • Riga Airport (RIX) and take a bus to Tartu and from Tartu take a bus or train to Jõgeva.

Please note that the airports are quite the same distance to the venue, but connections with Riga airport might be better, since it is bigger.  For teams travelling by car, please contact the local Prep Team in advance to check details for reimbursements. There is plenty of parking space at the venue.

Arrival: We ask that all participants arrive at the venue (Jõgeva) between 2pm and 6pm on Sunday 28th of July 2024.

Departure: Please consider planning the return journey, starting from Jõgeva train or bus station, on Sunday 4th of August 2024, between 6am and 1pm.

Travel Reimbursement

We hope to be able to reimburse up to at least 50% for team leaders and participants. Additional reimbursements will be paid out if the funding budget allows. Please note that different available reimbursements may apply whether your country is eligible under the available funding we have or not. You can write to the organising team in advance to find out what applies in your country’s/organisation’s case.

 Please note that travel reimbursements can only be paid on the following conditions: 

  • Cheapest option of travel is used (second class train and bus, economy class flights etc.) and approved by the local Prep Team before booking
  • The participants are following the Behavioural Guidelines and general Rally rules at all times
  • All original tickets, proof of payments and boarding passes are submitted to the local prep team by 20th August 2024.

Please note that no travel reimbursement will be made unless ALL ORIGINAL travel documents are received by 20th August 2024.
