Join our Pool of External Representatives!

Are you a young person from a rural area who enjoys raising awareness on rural issues, interested in advocating for the rights of rural youth and willing to use your voice to represent youth?

Rural Youth Europe is creating its first ever Pool of External Representatives (PER)!

Background:

As our organisation keeps growing and rural youth is climbing higher in the political agenda, we get more opportunities for external representation in various events around Europe and beyond. Right now, these external representation opportunities are undertaken by our board and our secretariat. However, we would like to engage more of our members and give the opportunity to more people from rural areas to make the voice of rural youth heard.

Composition of PER:

The PER of Rural Youth Europe will be composed of young people from our member organisations, approved by the board. The members of PER will be receiving notice of some of the external opportunities we acquire and expressing their interest to undertake that external representation opportunity. These external representation opportunities usually include different events like training courses, conferences and forums, drafting groups and meetings with strategic partners, both in different places around Europe or online. The external representatives will be prepared by the RYE team before participating in the external representation opportunity and then asked to report back the results of their external representation.

All costs related to travel, accommodation, food etc. will be carried out by the organisers or RYE.

The PER composition will be renewed every year and there is no set term of office, beyond the maximum age limit.

Profile of the RYE External Representative:

We want the pool of selected candidates to reflect the full diversity and dynamism of our network and we will select the group accordingly. The successful applicants will correspond to the following criteria:

  • be a member of our member organisations;
  • be between 18 and 30 years of age, with limited spots also for up to 35 years old;
  • be able to speak and work in English;
  • have good communication skills and able to represent the voices of rural youth;
  • be passionate about rural youth issues and have some experience in some of them;
  • be interested and available to participate at international events and represent RYE’s position on different topics.

Selection process:

All applicants should be members of our member organisations, and their expression of interest will be examined through an assessment process by RYE’s board and secretariat.

Interested people should apply through this short online application form no later than Monday, 27th of November, 23:59 CET.
