I come as a new face to some and an old friend to others, but anyway, I am Pia Nurmio-Perälä from Finland and I am the new Secretary General at Rural Youth Europe. I have recently started working, on November 19, and I am eager to get into my tasks!

Devon Young Farmers are looking for a new destination for the Devon under 18 group to visit for 7- 9 days in August next year. The visit could include outdoor sports, social and cultural activities, trips to local landmarks and if possible a farm visit. You are welcome to visit Devon in return where possible.

The Youth Department of the Council of Europe is launching a call for participants for the seminar "The role of youth work in combating segregation in school environments: a seminar for youth workers and actors in formal education", which will be held in Strasbourg, 21-24 November 2012. Deadline for applying: 22 October 2012.

There have been several changes in staff in the Rural Youth Europe office recently. At the end of September we said farewell to Amanda Hajnal, who has worked as Secterary General for 3.5 years. We want to thank Amanda for her hard work and wish her all the best at her new position.
